By now the British writer Jojo Moyes is a world famous author of romantic novels, and she is really good at it.

Her heroine in this heart-breaking story is 30-year-old Lou Clark, who desperately wants to get away from her old life in London, although she has a new boyfriend, Sam, a paramedic .

Not very convincingly, she leaves him behind to work as a carer/companion for the beautiful Polish wife of a wikedly rich businessman in New York. This situation gives Moyes the welcome chance to describe the glittering world of the filthy rich New Yorkers and at the same time to show that Lou is the really good person among all those egotists.

When she comes home for Christmas, she must discover, that Sam has a new love, which brings the necessary complications for the narrative. In the end, all is well. But Moyes`real interest is to show that Lou finds out, it is more important to discover your true self and true destiny than to just love another person.
