 This is the fifth Lindsay Gordon mystery, and it is a story set in the British publishing world. McDermid takes great pain in explaining, that the publishers and agents she knows are, of course, all honest and good persons, so it is just for her juicy story set in an almost excusively lesbian society, that they all have a skeleton in the cupboard.

All these female characters do a lot of hugging, loving and falling out of love just like in any of their chick lit counterparts.

Lindsay Gordon, the unwilling investigator in the murder of a famous author, stumbles into one tight situation after the other without any clue, what it is all about.
