Robert Throrogood created the BBC TV series „Death in Paradise“  and then turned the set of the TV series into  „Death in Paradise“ mysteries, with great success, I have to admit. This is the second book with DI Richard Poole, banned to the tropical island of Saint Marie, where the climate is disastrous and the food disgusting. And his suits far too hot . But he plods on, undeterred by any distractions and no ever so clever murderer can escape his logic and stubborn investigations. Quite enjoyable reading, as the author has a lot more time to develop his plot und ponder the reasons behind his characters` actions. The solution is a bit far fetched and not utterly convincing, but so what.
